Research interests
My research is centered on exploring the cognitive, behavioral and
neurobiological mechanisms associated with Breathwork. Breathwork is the
induction of an altered state of consciousness via voluntary
hyperventilation within a controlled setting and has a focus on self
exploration with the goal of enhanced well-being. The project employs
both behavioral and neuroimaging methods to empirically assess which
socio-cognitive mechanisms are influenced by breathwork induced states
and whether they have positive outcomes for well-being.
