… aims at designing user-friendly technical systems that enhance or support human capabilities. It is the science of human behavior and capability, applied to the design and operation of systems and technology.
“The design of the device to prevent errors is likely to be more successful than telling people not to make errors.”

Prof. Dr. Linda Onnasch
I am an assistant professor of engineering psychology at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
In my lectures and courses I like to talk about usability engineering, trust in automation, flexible automation or human-robot interaction.
In my research I focus on human-automation interaction, e.g. assistant systems in supervisory control or adaptive automation. My second research topic deals with effects of robot anthropomorphism on performance and safety in interaction with humans.
