Research Interests

In my PhD I investigate how different processes in ourselves affect the ways in which we interact with others. For example, my current project focuses on how the inferences we make about what other people feel and think are biased by our own emotions and thoughts. In previous studies, I examined whether intranasal oxytocin and social cues such as eye gaze affected the tendency to imitate the facial expressions and hand gestures observed in others.

In my research I employ a range of experimental psychology techniques, including behavioral testing, eye-tracking and psychophysiology.
