Bachelor


An outline of Biological Psychology is provided by means of lectures. Topics include, among others, neuroanatomy, neurophysiology and endocrinology, evolution and development of the nervous system, sensory physiology and motor functions. The areas of sexuality and reproduction, homeostatic processes, biological rythms and sleep, memory, learning and language are handled in an optional lecture.

Graduate Curriculum

 

The chair collaborates in the study focus (Schwerpunkt) "Cognitive Sciences and Neurosciences". Subject of the curriculum is the neuronal basis of cognition and neuroscientific approaches to cognitive processes. The study focus is organized within a systematic curriculum.

 

Biological Psychology contributes to the study focus with the following lectures and seminars:

  • Contribution to lecture series "Cognitive Science"
  • Neuroscientific methods (Lecture and Lab. Exercises)
  • Examples for seminars:

   Neuroscientific approaches to learning and memory

    - Cognitive conflicts

    - Neurocognition of language

    - Neuroscientific approaches in mental chronometry

    - Object- and face recognition

    - Neuroscientific examinations of the semantic system

    - Affective Neurosciences

 

In addition student research projects are conducted with the perspective of being followed up by a bachelors or masters thesis.
